What is surrogacy?

What is surrogacy?

A surrogate or gestational carrier is a woman who carries a baby for intended parents who cannot have a child on their own. Our GC's are not genetically related to the baby they carry, and they are compensated.

Why do they do it?

Gestational carrriers have children of their own, good pregnancies and they like being pregnant. They are mothers who want to help others have the beautiful feeling they experience when they see their own children.

The Reward

Giving the gift of a lifetime is the reward of a lifetime. Not only do our GCs benefit financially from surrogacy, but they also receive the reward of knowing they have changed the world. Giving the gift of life is quite an achievement, and it is what motivates our surrogates the reward of knowing they have done something extraordinary. Our surrogates give hope and optimism to parents struggling through their fertility journey. If you'd like to help a person or couple achieve their dreams, you can be confident that Pitter Patter will take care of you each step of the way.

Gestational Carriers Are...

In addition to being excellent, caring mothers to their own children, GC's share a few universal qualities. They are:

Open and honest

Gestational carriers should open and honest about everything from their past to situations arising during pregnancy.

Great communicators

Excellent communication is critical in any relationship.

Organized

There are many items to coordinate, including travel, screenings, evaluations, treatments, pregnancy and let's not forget your own family life! Being organized can make your journey smooth and simple.

Aware and ready

Gestational carriers should clearly understand surrogacy and be aware of the surrogacy process, medications, commitments, and more. Knowing what to expect will help your journey go smoothly; ask questions, research, and learn before you commit. Our Case Managers have been GC's themselves, hear their stories, and ask questions!

Healthy

Gestational carriers need to be healthy and ready for pregnancy before they begin, and during the pregnancy, they need to be active and receive excellent prenatal care.

Supported

Pregnancy, even an easy one, can be challenging; a surrogate pregnancy is no different; it's essential to have a positive and supportive environment. A great GC should have a strong support system and be willing to ask for help.

The Support

We welcome surrogates into a supportive community of women who guide you through the process of bringing new life to a family. You get the support of our team of coordinators who have been surrogates and understand the journey you are on first hand. We also have a great group of current and former surrogates who are passionate about mentoring those starting out through our private Facebook group, support calls and in person get togethers.
